Envisioned as a testament to the harmonious coexistence between urban and nature, Oakridge is an urban enclave designed to redefine city living.
Transforming a 1950s suburban mall into a vibrant urban hub, Oakridge is a groundbreaking mixed-use development in central Vancouver. It blends innovative architectural design with environmental and social sustainability, offering a diverse range of residential, retail, and civic spaces, including a 9-acre public park. The project seamlessly integrates sustainable transport and energy solutions while fostering a strong sense of community and connectivity, epitomizing a new paradigm in urban development.
In the development of Oakridge Park, our team served as computational and performance designers, employing cutting-edge design tools to translate the ambitious vision of this landmark project into a feasible architectural reality.

In addition to the core responsibilities as an architectural designer on the project, the focus revolved around developing computational and parametric models. Using software like Grasshopper and Rhino, our team optimized the architectural forms to balance aesthetics with functionality. With the aid of Revit, we were able to integrate the project into a streamlined BIM environment, enhancing collaboration, visualization, and documentation throughout the design process.

Environmental performance optimization was a key focus of the project, aiming to align the architectural design with sustainability principles. We used Ladybug tools to analyze and improve various environmental performance parameters. This allowed us to create buildings that reduced the carbon footprint and enhanced the quality of indoor environments, contributing to the overall well-being of future residents and visitors.
